Greetings friends, colleagues, and awesome young people!



As you may have heard, IWES is working with a new nationwide project
called RISE, creating the NOLA young peoples leadership alliance around
issues of sexual and reproductive health and justice! 

In short, the idea is to: 

1.	Get a bunch of young people together who are interested in these
topics, 
2.	Have some conversations,
3.	See what things we can do to make some positive changes in our
communities.

We are hosting another focus group to learn more about the experience of
young people in our community, specifically, young (16-25 years old)
women of color who are from our currently live in New Orleans or the
Gulf coast region.  The focus group will be Wednesday, December 16, from
5:15- 7:30 and we will provide dinner (yum) and a $20 stipend for all
participants.  


So you're interested and you want to get involved?  Here's how...

If you are a young woman of color who is free the evening of Dec 16 give
us a call or e-mail, mark your calendar,  and come to the focus group on
Dec 16.  AND invite all the cool women you know.

If you are a young person who does not fit into the focus group criteria
give us a call or e-mail so we can keep you informed of other relevant
meetings around reproductive justice, including future RISE meetings,
and preparing for the United States Social Forum (USSF) 2010 (
http://www.ussf2010.org/).  And talk to other young women who may be
interested in the focus group or in general.  Have them get in touch
with us!



If you are not a young person spread the word to the young people you
know.  And give us a call or e-mail to find out more ways you can
support the New Orleans Young Peoples Leadership Alliance!!
