Counselors Building Resilience to Vicarious Trauma

 

Mental health professionals often work with survivors of traumatic events and are therefore at high risk for experiencing vicarious traumatization and burnout.  This workshoop will provide a discussion of vicarious trauma as experienced by clinicians in various practice settings.  Prevention, symptoms, and ways of coping with vicarious trauma will be explo0red, along with stragegies for practitioners to increase their own resilience.
